Rules
For UNITAF members, our general policies and SOPs do also apply here.
For guests, you find our rules here
We expect you to behave this way, and we would like to especially highlight our code of conduct:
# I am a part of UNITAF, a group of people with diverse backgrounds and cultures. I will show** respect** to all members.
# In order to facilitate the administrative activities and operational leadership of UNITAF I will **respect and uphold the chains of command**.
# I will make a conscious effort to** learn our SOPs** over time and apply them.
# I will strive to demonstrate good sportsmanship and integrity at all times.
# If conflict should arise between members, I will step back, inform a member of Staff or a NCO and **abstain from retaliating**.
# If I believe a member did something well, I will **praise them in public**.
# If I believe a member did something wrong, I will **talk it out and correct it in private**.
# I will never forget that I am a member of UNITAF, a member of **one team with one goal**.
WARNING: We expect you do play as the role you have slotted in the lobby.
IMPORTANT: Wilful killing of BLUFOR or civilians, obvious actions of disrespect against any player and blatantly ignoring instructions from UNITAF members, NCOs and Staff will get you instantly kicked and banned.
SOPs
For UNITAF members, our SOPs are the same as during our other missions.
For our guests, you find all of our SOPs here.
We expect you to read Basic Infantry and Communications .
NOTE: We do not expect you to understand and apply these to the dot on your first session playing with us, but we do expect that you undertake an effort to get better at them.
WARNING: Obviously player count dictates how well we can follow our SOPs, but all members should promote and practice SOPs at all times to the best of their abilities.
How to connect
Introduction
UNITAFs mission is to liberate the map of the enemy. Initially the enemy will hold all sectors and we start with a limited amount of resources. By strategically taking over enemy sectors to gain access to more resources and unlock better vehicles to use.
Resources and Measures
You can see these on the right-hand side of your screen if you are in one of our FOBs.
<table>
<tr>
<th>Name</th>
<th>Icon</th>
<th>Purpose</th>
<th>How to get more?</th>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Manpower</td>
<td>`Green Fist`</td>
<td>Used to hire AI soldiers</td>
<td>Capture villages</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Supplies</td>
<td>`Supplies logo`</td>
<td>Used for base building and purchasing of assets</td>
<td>Capture factories or find them in an enemy sector and transport them to one of our FOBs</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Ammo</td>
<td>`Red Bullets`</td>
<td>Used when purchasing vehicles and hiring AI soldiers</td>
<td>Capture military bases</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Fuel</td>
<td>`Olive Fuel Can`</td>
<td>Used by our vehicles</td>
<td>Capture fuel depots</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Population Cap</td>
<td>`Pop Cap Icon`</td>
<td>Max number of soldiers we can have in the mission. Players & AI.</td>
<td>This is static</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Alert Level</td>
<td>`Colour changing exclamation mark`</td>
<td>Measure of how fortified enemy sectors are going to be and frequency and power of counter attacks on our sectors</td>
<td>Do a secondary mission</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Civilian Support</td>
<td>`Civilian Support Icon`</td>
<td>Measure of how much the local population likes us.</td>
<td>Do not kill civilians or damage their property. Liberate sectors and healing injured civilians in active sectors will increase civilian support.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Intel Level</td>
<td>`Blue Star`</td>
<td>Used to start secondary missions</td>
<td>Bring captured enemies back to base, find Intel documents in enemy sectors or do a search & rescue mission</td>
</tr>
</table>
NOTE: After a hopefully successful playing session, the Alert Level is likely going to be high. Please consider doing a quick secondary objective to get it under around 60%, so the players who hop on the next time can also have fun.
WARNING: If Civilian support drops under 25%, expect IEDs, attacks on our convoys and them raising troops which support our enemy.
IMPORTANT: Do not destroy buildings in Capitals, Cities and Factories. Feel free to level Military Bases and Radio Towers.
Types of sectors
You can see these on the map. If they are blue, they are controlled by us. If they are red, they are controlled by the enemy.
<table>
<tr>
<th>Name</th>
<th>Icon</th>
<th>Purpose</th>
<th>Notes</th>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Capital</td>
<td>{F14405, size=full}</td>
<td>Our primary objectives</td>
<td>These are heavily fortified. Expect QRF</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Cities</td>
<td>{F14407, size=full}</td>
<td>Small to medium sizes cities</td>
<td></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Factories</td>
<td>{F14409, size=full}</td>
<td>They generate Supply, Ammo & Fuel</td>
<td>Very nice to have.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Military bases</td>
<td>{F14411, size=full}</td>
<td>They give us access to bigger vehicles</td>
<td>Heavily defended. Highly equipped.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Radio Towers</td>
<td>{F14412, size=full}</td>
<td>Taking radio towers will increase QRF response time nearby</td>
<td>Ideal for solo or small groups play</td>
</tr>
</table>
Secondary Objectives
Secondary objectives can be accessed by using your scroll wheel in a friendly FOB.
Two types of missions allow you to decrease the "Alert Level" of the enemy. These cost intelligence:
<table>
<tr>
<th>Name</th>
<th>Objective</th>
<th>Quick guide</th>
<th>Result</th>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>FOB Hunt</td>
<td>Destroy an enemy FOB</td>
<td>Find red circle on map. Find the FOB within. Destroy the containers.</td>
<td>Reduces enemy alert level by 40%</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Convoy Hijack</td>
<td>Destroy an enemy convoy</td>
<td>Find convoy route on map. Find convoy. Destroy it.</td>
<td>Reduces enemy alert level slightly and will drop ammo boxes.</td>
</tr>
</table>
Additionally, there is a third secondary objective, which will reward Intel for completing:
<table>
<tr>
<th>Name</th>
<th>Objective</th>
<th>Quick guide</th>
<th>Result</th>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Search and Rescue</td>
<td>Evacuate two downed pilots</td>
<td>Find circle on map. Find the the pilots. Bring them back to one of our FOBs.</td>
<td>Awards Intel</td>
</tr>
</table>
Best Practices
**Loadouts:**
The Liberation play style is more mobile than what we do on official ops. This means you are going to be running around a lot, with fewer breaks. Plan your loadouts accordingly.
**Vehicles:**
Use them! Especially in small groups, you will need to have a wide variety of weapon systems at your disposal, like AT and AA, just to name two. Combined with the high mobility play style having additional storage space nearby is an excellent decision.
IMPORTANT: Afraid to lose the helo? The Chinook and the two Littlebirds do respawn **free of charge** at the Operations base!
**Is the enemy bringing to much stuff to deal with?**
Do a FOB hunt already!
BETA
The Liberation server is still in beta. Please report all bugs on Discord in the `#j11-liberation-server` channel.
